Biography
Bruce Douglas Bochy (born April 16, 1955) is an American former MLB manager and former player. Born in France to American parents, Bochy played as a catcher for the Houston Astros, New York Mets, and San Diego Padres from 1978–1987. After retiring as a player, he became a minor league coach and later major league manager. He managed the Padres for 12 seasons (1995–2006), the San Francisco Giants for 13 seasons (2007–2019), and the Texas Rangers for 3 seasons (2023–2025). As manager, Bochy led the Padres to one World Series appearance (1998), the Giants to three World Series championships (2010, 2012, 2014), and the Rangers to the franchise's first World Series championship in his first season with the club (2023). He is one of three managers to win a World Series championship in both leagues and has the sixth most wins as a manager in MLB history. On September 30, 2025, Bochy ended his tenure as Rangers manager by mutual agreement, with the team offering him an advisory role.
