Biography
Johnathan Hildred Wall Jr. (born September 6, 1990) is an American former professional basketball player best known for his tenure with the Washington Wizards. The No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall was a five-time All-Star and made All-NBA in 2017. An explosive, up-tempo point guard and elite playmaker, he led the Wizards to multiple playoff runs while setting franchise records in assists and steals. Significant injuries, including heel surgery and a ruptured Achilles in 2019, curtailed his prime years. After subsequent stints with the Rockets and Clippers, Wall announced his retirement on August 19, 2025, and joined Amazon’s NBA on Prime as an analyst.
