Benjamin Andrew Stokes OBE is an English international cricketer and current captain of the England Test team. Born in New Zealand, he moved to England as a child when his father took a rugby coaching job. Stokes is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history, excelling as both a middle-order batsman and fast-medium bowler. His career has been defined by match-winning performances, most notably in the 2019 Cricket World Cup final and the "Miracle of Headingley" during the 2019 Ashes series. As Test captain since 2022, he has pioneered an aggressive, entertaining style of play dubbed "Bazball" alongside coach Brendon McCullum. Despite facing personal challenges, including mental health struggles following his father's death in 2020, Stokes has shown remarkable resilience throughout his career.
